A league is an organized competition involving teams competing against each other. Each team participates in a series of games (called a "season"), and the team with the most wins at the end of the season is usually declared the winner of the league. Leagues are made up of multiple divisions and divisions are usually divided into conferences or groups. Each team plays every other team in its specific division the same number of times over the course of the season.
